We believe you shouldn't have to choose between beautiful scent and clean ingredients. That's why we use only clean, care-free fragrance oils in every candle we make.

What Are Clean Fragrance Oils?

Clean fragrance oils are carefully formulated scents that are free from harmful chemicals and toxins commonly found in conventional candles. Our fragrance oils are:

  • Phthalate-free – No endocrine disruptors
  • Paraben-free – No preservatives linked to health concerns
  • Free from carcinogens – No cancer-causing agents
  • Free from mutagens – No DNA-damaging chemicals
  • Free from reproductive toxins – Safe for your home and family
  • Prop 65 compliant – Meets California's strict safety standards

Why Not Essential Oils?

We love essential oils, but they're not ideal for candles. Here's why we chose clean fragrance oils instead:

  • Burn safety: Many essential oils have low flash points and can be flammable or unstable when burned
  • Scent throw: Essential oils often don't disperse well in soy wax, resulting in weak or no fragrance
  • Consistency: Natural essential oils vary batch to batch, making it hard to deliver the same scent every time
  • Sustainability: Some essential oils require massive amounts of plant material (e.g., 250 lbs of lavender for 1 lb of oil), which isn't always sustainable

Clean fragrance oils give us the best of both worlds: beautiful, consistent scent without the harmful chemicals.

What's NOT in Our Fragrance Oils

Unlike cheap candles you'll find at big-box stores, our fragrance oils are rigorously tested and free from:

  • Phthalates (DBP, DEHP, DEP)
  • Parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben)
  • Formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing agents
  • Benzene and toluene
  • Styrene
  • Synthetic musks
  • Any ingredients on California Prop 65 list

Every fragrance oil we use is:

  • Tested for safety and performance in soy wax
  • Sourced from reputable suppliers with full transparency
  • Evaluated for clean ingredient profile
